Have fun with Spielplatz!
..for downtempo music lovers..
Incanto, latin: 'to enchant by music', is the motto of Climatics second longplayer on 4mpo. The artist from Cologne once again has taken a long journey through various styles of electronic music without losing sight of the lounge/deep house concept. The album, which sustaines a soft and slightly melancholic undertone, holds many cineatic moments. Sometimes one dives deeply into sun-splashed beach athmosphere, finds himself in a shady dock scenery ? la James Bond and then gets carried away by a 70?s french movie... Dennis Legree, a very expressive singer and songwriter, you might as well know by his collaborations with Inaya Day and Deep Dive Corporation, appears on two new vocal tracks: 'You rescued me'; gospel music gets fused with trip hop, what comes out is a very personal and intense ballad. And on Everything', a smooth and tasty chill- house tune.Antonella D?Orio, the italian-born singer, also has added a lot of flavour to the album. Her voice fits perfectly into Climatic?s sound and vibe.Compared to the debut 'Around and About', the new album sounds pretty saturated, production-wise, and appears to be more emotional and well rounded. Climatic, whose tracks have meanwhile been released on numerous Compilations in and outside of Germany, also exists as a live act.
Roland Voss aka Lemongrass has every reason to celebrate. His brand-new album „Pour l’Amour“ is his tenth in a row of outstanding releases and continues to play with jazz elements already known from the preceding album „Filmothèque“. In contrast to his previous instrumental approach, the sound on the new album gains further momentum by the beautiful voices of three female vocalists: Hamburg-based artist Skadi (known from "Fleur Solaire"), Tokyo singer Mayu (known from „Ikebana“) and New York songstress Manalili add truly soul-tickling pleasures.
A sensual blend of ambient rhythms mixed by the highly acclaimed Alan Smithee. Named after Nicolas Siervo's South Beach hot spot, this sexy compilation brings together the luscious beats of Jazzanova, Tibet Project and Carlos Campos.
Istanbul based Orient Expressions is a collaboration between Can Utkan aka Dj Yakuza, Cem Yildiz, and Richard Hamer. The threesome combines electrophonic sensibilities with Turkish Folk/ Alevi song and instrumental forms to render a well-integrated sound that moves through polyharmonic, jazzy vibes with darbuka and traditional percussion-laden grooves. Dj Yakuza provides the ideas and backbones of the tracks on which Orient Expressions will implement their signature sound. Cem Yildiz reapproaches Turkish melodies and arranging from a fresh perspective with his innovative stance on such varied instruments as the baglama family, the ud, cumbus and sazbus. Richard Hamer blends woodwinds and harmonic arranging into the mix to complement and amalgamate the sound. There is no stale four/four boom, boom boom that is often the less imaginative route taken in many electro-ethno-projects concerning the "East" to date and Yakuza strives to maintain a forward bent to the trajectory of the project. The group uses the services of their sound engineer Murat Uncuoglu to reach their sonic status. Much more than a mere Sound Engineer, Murat Uncuoglu is a complimentary part of the trio and features as a writer in a good number of tracks.
All albums posted by probably some italian guy in the full_albums section of usenet. The quality varies from LQ VBR to 320kbs. Tagging sucks. So have fun retagging all files with mp3Tag. You have to tweak the search string a bit to get the par files.
As usual: click the album-art for the nzb link.
